Why you should travel to Bangladesh

Despite its many attractions, Bangladesh is sometimes overlooked by visitors. Bangladesh has something for everyone, from the bustling metropolis of Dhaka, which showcases the country’s rich culture and history, to the pristine beaches of Cox’s Bazar, where you can relax and enjoy the sun and sea. Here are several reasons to visit Bangladesh at least once.

Sundarbans is the world’s biggest mangrove forest in Bangladesh. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to diverse wildlife, including the Royal Bengal tiger, dolphins, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. You can visit this natural wonder by boat or on foot, taking in the beauty and biodiversity of these surroundings.

 Music and Culture-

The Bangali people are inherently artistic and cultural. They ardently protect their interpretations from the destructive forces of modernity and cherish them. All year long, the calendar is filled with several literary fairs and musical events. Pohela Boishakh, Pohela Falgun, etc are Bengali’s most celebrated traditional culture. Bengali rock bands and “Joler Gan”, “Warfaze”,” Metrolife”, “Chirkut” etc are popular worldwide and are also from Bangladesh. For music fans, their shows are a must-see, typically selling out. To experience a bit of the past, don’t forget to visit Dhaka’s museums such as the National Museum at Sahabag, Bangladesh Military Museum-Agargaon, Bangabandhu Memorial Museum-Dhanmondi, etc. Bangladesh was victorious from the bloody war that led to its independence. To honor the sacrifices made by their nation’s heroes, people celebrate Mother Language Day and Independence Day.

You find several religions and histories-

Bangladesh, with origins in Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Animism, is a culturally diverse nation. In this area, you can explore Buddhist and Hindu temples, and mosques, offering a rich cultural experience for visitors. There are many different tribes in Bangladesh, each with its distinct culture. I went to see Khashia village, one of the few matriarchal communities in the world, in Lawachara National Park, Sreemangal, and Sylhet. However, because of political turmoil, international visitors must obtain special authorization to enter the Chittagong Hill tracts, where most tribal people live. The area we now know as Bangladesh has such a fascinating history! In the sixteenth century, this region had a rich history of being influenced by various empires and civilizations before becoming part of the Mughal Empire. ..Following that, it came under British authority before becoming a part of Pakistan (then known as East Pakistan) and gaining independence from India in 1947. If you are a History enthusiast, you can learn more about the nation’s dark past at the Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka and the Liberation War Museum. There are also many archaeological sites to explore, the most well-known of which are Panam Nagar, Sonargaon, Ahsan Manjil, Lalbag Fort, Shalban Bihar, Sompur Buddhabihar, etc.

Festivals and Rituals

Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country with about 91% Muslims living here. They pray in mosques and observe two religious festivals a year. Although it is a Muslim country, people of all religions live here peacefully. There are temples for Hindus, pagodas for Buddhists, and churches for Christians. Durga Puja is the main festival for Hindus, Buddha Purnima for Buddhists, Christmas for Christians, and various tribes celebrate their religious festivals. The most beautiful and friendly thing about Bangladesh is that they are respectful and tolerant of each other’s religion. And they believe in “Festival to all, religion to each.”.

The people-

They will be incredibly welcoming and helpful, and happy to see you. You never imagined that a nation would love to talk to you sincerely. People will want to snap photos with you because they love to take selfies with foreigners. The locals would appreciate it if you could take their picture. They love being photographed, and it would mean a lot to them!

An Affluence of Constructed Heritage:

If all you want to do is stay in the city, Old Dhaka’s architectural treasures and heritage sites will make you happy. Even though the 400-year-old city has lost many of its older buildings to development, there is still much to admire with your eyes and a camera.

Tigers Live In Bangladesh’s Jungles:

 travel to Bangladesh

With over 100 Bengal tigers residing there, wildlife photographers and biologists might want to put Bangladesh on their travel bucket lists. On tiger safaris around the nation, you may track and observe these magnificent animals from a respectful distance. Bangladesh is home to the largest mangrove forest in the world, known for its lush ecosystem that provides a habitat for the iconic Bengal Tiger. To explore the mangrove forests and walk down the rare Bengal Tiger, you can hire a local guide from Dhaka and spend a few nights in the area taking in the scenery. Additionally, you can start your journey to the Sundarbans in Khulna by using the iconic Rocket Steamer boat. You can explore the Sundarbans for two, three, four, or more nights. This mangrove forest, the largest in the world, is fairly vast. Tour operators provide a variety of packages, ranging from budget-friendly to lavish. By living on boats or staying in homestays in communities located nearby, you can keep your trip affordable and enjoyable.

world’s longest natural sandy sea beach

 travel to Bangladesh

The District of Cox’s Bazar, located in the Chittagong Division, is well-known for having the longest unbroken sandy coastline. It’s 150 kilometers south of Chittagong, the industrial port. Cox’s Bazar is well-known for being the longest sea beach on Earth, covering 121 kilometers in total. It’s truly a remarkable place! Captain Cox, the place’s founder, inspired the name Cox’s Bazar. In 1798 he established this beautiful beach. The Cox’s Bazar beach was initially just a tiny port and health resort. Despite its reputation as the world’s longest beach, it has seen the least amount of traffic. This location offers guests the tranquility and soothing wind of the Bay of Bengal Sea. Without a doubt, Cox’s Bazaar Beach presents the best pleasure to all of its guests. Visitors are allowed to wander around at their leisure while enjoying the magnificent view of the ocean. Aside from these activities, visitors can go boating, scuba diving, and surfing. Moreover, Coxs Bazar’s seafood is popular with tourists. You must try it.

Cuisine and street food

 travel to Bangladesh

For foodies, South East Asia is a culinary paradise. Dhaka is not an exception, especially old Dhaka. It delivers delicious meals and has a good ranking on the street food index. Furthermore, it is not only available to Bangladesh’s capital. Travelers from all over the world have plenty of options in Bangladesh, but the highlight is the Bengali cuisine, which is, I have to say, superb. You must try “Nanna Biriyani”, its so much delicious. Moreover, Bel puri, Fuchka, Chotpoti, and different types of fry are must-try street foods.

Immense Natural beauty with six seasons-

 travel to Bangladesh

Bangladesh boasts an abundance of natural beauty, with six distinct seasons that bring with them a variety of landscapes and wildlife. People experience Intense summer heat throughout the nation, along with seasonal fruit and northwester. Moonlit evenings and cloud games come with autumn. Farmers harvest golden rice in late fall. When winter comes, the leaves fall out. Bangladesh is transformed into a fragrant flower box around the spring season. While Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest and Cox’s Bazar is the longest beach in the world, the rivers also offer stunning views at night. However, the effects of climate change are evident in the changing of the seasons and are endangering the elegance of nature, therefore pollution control is necessary.

 It’s a cheap country-

Overall, Bangladesh is not an expensive country; but, as the nation’s capital, Dhaka is pricey in comparison. A good supper may be less than $1 in several locations across the nation. You may easily visit Bangladesh without going over budget because it’s one of the most affordable countries in Asia. A meal at a neighborhood restaurant may just cost $1 or $2, yet a posh restaurant may cost $4 to $6. It’s important to remember that while Bangladesh offers affordable lodging, dorms are not available due to the lack of a backpacking culture here. Although prices vary depending on the destination (Sunderbans and Cox’s Bazar are sometimes more expensive), low-cost accommodations often start at USD 4 or USD 5. Traveling in Bangladesh is pretty affordable. and while international visitors occasionally pay more for tickets, these costs are often reasonable as well.
